Currently Senior UX Designer at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), one of the UK’s largest charities.

I help deliver better digital products by understanding the needs of the people who will use them, and the goals of the businesses making them.

At CAF, I design digital products for over a quarter of a million individual donors, 2,500 businesses and over seventy-thousand charities around the world, helping people give money more effectively to transform lives and communities around the world. It’s inspiring and I’m so proud to be part of it. I lead the design and continually develop the vision and strategy for improving the UX for our customers.

Here I am running a usability testing session to understand how our customers would actually interact with our digital touchpoints

Since graduating in 2003, I’ve gained valuable design experience in-house across various industries including aviation (at GE Capital), logistics (at one of the UK’s largest trade associations, Freight Transport Association), and now the financial services and charity sector. I’m experienced with user centred design in an agile environment as well as making evidence based design decisions and facilitating others in an organisation to do so.

I enjoy quickly iterating on ideas, collaborating with team mates in product, marketing and development and building things people love to use. I always strive to clearly articulate design decisions and the problems they are solving and am skilled in inspiring and leading change within an organisation.

I can produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes. I love designing and building sites that work everywhere and I’m passionate about user-centered design – understanding and validating product concepts – and see crit sessions as an opportunity to both share my knowledge and learn from others. What’s more, I collaborate closely with developers too, delivering final UI designs and specifications for development for mobile and web. I think every designer benefits when they know enough code to create simple prototypes, pattern libraries, and style guides.

In my spare time, my other passions are sport, running, the latest tech and travelling the world with my lovely wife.
